About Me

I am Siyuan Chen, a recent physics graduate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with broad interests in computational physics, computer graphics, and machine learning.

My work is motivated by a simple question: how can we build numerical and computational methods that remain faithful to physical principles while also being practical for real-world simulation and modeling?

Background

I received my B.Sc. in Physics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in June 2025. During my undergraduate studies, I also spent September 2024 to December 2024 as an exchange student at the University of Toronto.

Current Work

Since September 2025, I have been working as a Research Assistant at The University of Hong Kong in the Taku Komura Group, within AI, Robotics and Visual Computing at the School of Computing and Data Science.

Next Step

I am an incoming Ph.D. student at The University of British Columbia.

Research Interests

  • Physics-based simulation
  • Numerical methods
  • Scientific computing
  • Computer graphics
  • Machine learning for physical systems
